THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING KALOS The name Kalòs was born in Greek culture where the expression "kalòs kai agathòs" indicated the ideal to which the upright man, the true citizen, had to aspire; that is being "beautiful and good". In particular, the term καλός (kalòs) referred not only to what is "aesthetic beauty" but also to that "ethical beauty" that came from honest, upright and just behavior.
